Adenosine stress and rest T1-mapping differentiates ischemic, infarcted, remote and normal myocardium - a novel gadolinium-free method for ischemia detection with immediate applications in coronary artery disease

چکیده
Background In stable coronary artery disease (CAD), accurate ischemia detection enables targeted revascularization, which improves clinical outcomes. Myocardial blood volume (MBV) may be a better ischemia marker than myocardial blood flow. Adenosine stress and rest T1-mapping is a novel gadolinium-free CMR technique that reflects changes in MBV through its water content. We hypothesized that different myocardial tissues in CAD patients and controls have distinctive T1-responses to adenosine, enabling ischemia detection without gadolinium agents.

Adenosine Stress and Rest T1 Mapping Can Differentiate Between Ischemic, Infarcted, Remote, and Normal Myocardium Without the Need for Gadolinium Contrast Agents
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of T1 mapping at rest and during adenosine stress as a novel method for ischemia detection without the use of gadolinium contrast. BACKGROUND In chronic coronary artery disease (CAD), accurate detection of ischemia is important because targeted revascularization improves clinical outcomes. Myocardial blood volume (MBV) may be a mo...

BACKGROUND Novel cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) stress T1 mapping can detect ischemia and myocardial blood volume changes without contrast agents and may be a more comprehensive ischemia biomarker than myocardial blood flow. OBJECTIVES This study describes the performance of the first prospective validation of stress T1 mapping against invasive coronary measurements for detecting obstructiv...

Abstract Background: The correlation between QT dispersion (QTd) and myocardial ischemia is controversial. The main purpose of current study was to investigate the relationship between QTd and the severity and extent of myocardial ischemia. Methods: In this cross sectional study, 100 patients with suspected coronary artery diseases (CAD) were studied. Based on the results of the myocardial ...

Objective(s): To study the effect of acute and repeated stress on cardioprotection-induced by remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC).Materials and Methods: RIPC was induced by giving 4 short cycles of ischemia and reperfusion, each consisting of five min. The Langendorff’s apparatus was used to perfuse the isolated rat hearts by subjecti...
